Good News! The Final of the 1st National Clinical Skills Competition for Orthoses Application has concluded successfully. The Zhihui Assistive Devices Team won the Third Prize!
On September 19, 2025, the final of the 1st Clinical Skills Competition for Orthoses Application, organized by the Professional Committee on Rehabilitation Assistive Devices Application of the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, was held in Yibin, Sichuan Province.
The team from Zhihui Assistive Devices Health Consulting (Hubei) Co., Ltd. qualified for this national event after claiming first place in the Central China Division. Led by General Manager Pan Xiaofei, the team consisted of core members including Technical Director Ji Xu and Deputy Production Director Li Dan, competing alongside top teams from all over the country. The competition brought together outstanding teams from five regional divisions: South China, East China, Central China, Western China and North China. All participants were selected through strict screening and represented the highest standard of clinical orthotics application in their respective regions, making the contest highly competitive. All teams lived up to the competition theme: Craftsmanship in Assistive Devices, Excellence for a Better Future.
The competition featured two main segments: knowledge contests and practical operations. Short-answer questions thoroughly tested the participants’ theoretical knowledge and practical capabilities. Leveraging in-depth expertise in material science and clinical fitting, the Zhihui team took a solid lead on the scoreboard with a commanding advantage of 22 points. Their outstanding performance in the first round got them off to a strong start and laid a solid foundation for the subsequent practical challenges.
The practical operation segment stood out as the highlight of the competition. Teams drew clinical cases at random and were required to complete the entire workflow within the time limit, including orthosis design, fabrication, trial fitting and health education. Every procedure, from precise body measurement and personalized solution design based on patients’ conditions to meticulous fabrication of orthoses, put the teams’ professionalism and technical skills to the test. The participants demonstrated proficient skills and seamless teamwork, embodying true craftsmanship in every operation and fully showcasing the professional competence of the rehabilitation assistive devices industry.
After fierce rounds of theoretical and practical competitions, the Zhihui team stood out among numerous elite competitors. Thanks to their solid theoretical foundation, efficient teamwork and innovative technical application, they were awarded the Third Prize.
